Almost 40 years ago, we left Edinburgh to start afresh. This kind of help wasn't available then, and my mother, a single parent, couldn't keep up with 2 very young kids and so we were a family stuck in poverty.

Hopefully with more schemes like this, moving away to start over will be less of a requirement.
