Story

I know there are plenty of you out there who have wanted to see me behind bars over the years...

Well, congratulations. Your opportunity has finally arrived.

I’ll be swapping the day job for an orange jumpsuit and getting locked up for 12 hours in HM Prison Shrewsbury as part of Cash for Kids’ Set Me Free 2026.

Before anyone gets too excited, no, this isn't the result of years spent harassing underwriters, arguing over policy wordings or committing crimes against the English language in emails. It’s all for a genuinely brilliant cause.

I’m raising money for Cash for Kids and LoveBrum, helping them support children and young people across our local communities, with a particular focus on alleviating poverty.

And importantly, everything raised in our area stays in our area.

So this is where the shameless begging begins...

Whether you know me through work, networking, friendship, family, or you've simply always thought that seeing me locked in a Victorian prison cell was worth a few quid, please dig deep and donate whatever you can.

Every £5, £10, £20 or £50 adds up, and every donation helps these charities make a very real difference to a child or young person who needs it.

You can also leave me a photo or video message with your donation – words of encouragement are welcome, although I fully expect most of you to use the opportunity for abuse.

Keep an eye on this page for updates as we get closer to the big day and, eventually, live dispatches from my cell.

Thank you for supporting me and, much more importantly, for supporting Cash for Kids and LoveBrum.

Now, please help me raise enough money to earn my freedom.

Although I suspect some of you will happily pay to keep me in there!
