Help us provide a multi-sensory “Lolli-Trollie" for Southampton hospital. This will be a game-changer to gaining the attention of young patients and distracting them from their illness. The Lolli Trollies cost £12,000.
£6,000 has been raised thanks to The Gerald Micklem Charitable Trust and a long time Radio Lollipop supporter.
Cash for Kids have promised to match fund the next £3000 of donations meaning every £1 you donate is worth £2!
Bubbles, disco lights, fibre optics, a balloon pump and karaoke are among features on the fully loaded trolley, described as the latest innovation in play technology. It also features sensory equipment for deaf and blind children to ensure no-one misses out.
Based on the healing power of play, Volunteer teams visit children on the wards two evenings a week, equipped with toys, games, colouring materials and crafts. The visits make a huge difference to young patients and their families, adding a touch of normality to their hospital stay.
