Everyone who knows me knows that running has never come naturally to me. But this year, I set myself a challenge: to win the mental battle, achieve my goal, and complete a half marathon — all for an incredible cause.

And what better way to do it than alongside my fiancé and training partner, on the weekend of his 30th birthday…brownie points secured, I think!

We’re both raising money for Cash for Kids, a charity dedicated to making a real difference to the lives of children and young people. Since joining Bauer Media, I’ve seen first-hand just how hard the Cash for Kids team works. It’s genuinely humbling to witness the impact they have — supporting children affected by poverty, and facing challenges that no child should have to through giving them a chance to thrive.

If you’re able to donate — no matter how big or small — it would mean the world to me. Every penny will help spur me on through those 5:45am training sessions (I am definitely not a natural early bird!) and across the finish line.

And if you’re free on Sunday 12th April, I’d love to see some friendly faces shouting Happy Birthday to Charlie along the route!
