Story

Hi there, welcome to my fundraising page… make yourself at home :-)

So today, 1 December, I started the Marcothon 2021 which is running 3 miles a day (just over 5 k) or 25 mins every day throughout December, no missing days or saving miles into other days. This is a pretty big deal for me as pre lock down I’d never have thought I’d be able to do this.

I started running at lockdown when the gym shut for what I thought would be a temporary period til it reopened. I’ve now cancelled my membership! I initially ran myself but then didn’t trust myself to brave the winter weather so I joined The Fit Like Joggers Club which is one of the best things I’ve ever done 😊👍🏻. This group is fantastic! I’ve no idea when it happened but I went from, I won’t lie, dragging myself out but knowing I’d feel great at the end to actually looking forward to going out itself! Exercise was always a means to an end for me (guilt free eating and drinking 😉) but now I look forward to it, as I keep saying who’d have thought lol I started the year with the 50 miles in January challenge so thought it fitting to end with this one which is a fair stretch from then at hopefully 155 miles….

To keep me going I wanted to add in some accountability, which is now to you, and so I chose a worthy local charity Northsound’s Cash for Kids, a really worthwhile local cause, everything raised stays local with a focus on alleviating poverty, supporting disability and improving quality of life, so please support me by sponsoring me and giving to this hugely beneficial charity and helping make it a better Christmas for local children.

If you’re still reading I’ll be honest I’m pooping my pants posting this in case I don’t manage but that’s also the reason for posting it too, knowing you’re supporting me and counting on me finishing will spur me on to get out in all weather, cold, wet, snow… feeling the guilt trip yet? I hope so 😉
