Firstly, a wee bit about me and how this all came about.......
After becoming a mum at the age of 19 I have been just that, a mum until my kids were old enough to look after themselves I worked part time and then went full time 5 years ago as a contracts manager in the construction design industry. Although I love my day job, when the pandemic hit and we were all put on furlough it allowed me time to think of me. Not just kids, family life, work and general every day life but me. I have been doing fitness for 10 years and it became part of my daily routine, heading to the gym be it at 6am or 6pm to do a workout. So while in lockdown and not much else to do, I decided to sit my level 2 gym instructor course. It took me 6 months to pass and I didn't actually know what I was going to do with my new certification but I decided to get online and teach some classes with a few close friends a few nights a week to keep us all going while the gyms were still shut. I signed up for the free 40 minute zooms and wrote up a few basic workouts and asked my chums who was up for joining me. What started out as maybe 5/6 people online soon grew to 40 online and so LQC FITNESS was born. I spent the first 5 months of 2021 online teaching zooms 4/5 days a week and then when the weather got better I started to run classes outdoors in Bridge of Don. In this last few months I have grown a business that not only teaches fitness classes but has made a "fit fam" that I am so proud to be a part of.

We currently have 4 teaching instructors and run 48 classes a month online and at various venues across Bridge of Don.

Meet our wee team

Leslie - has a passion for fitness that she will carry forward in her future career. Leslie passed in the summer this year and joined the team teaching, freestyle, hiitstep and Boxercise

Steph - fitness is life! And plays touch rugby for Scotland and her and her team took home gold this year! She joined the team in may after passing her certification and teaches freestyle and Boxercise

Briony - one of my long time friends joined the team recently and will add her own stamp to the team. She is beach body trained and will be taking her first class this week πŸ™Œ

We had wanted to run this charity event to give back to the community's for supporting us this last year and had wanted to do this before Christmas when we turned 1 but with restrictions and the run up to Christmas we thought best to do it in January when people would have more time and also when everyone is looking to get into or back to fitness.

We are raising money to support Northsound Cash for Kids in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire so they can make a real difference to the lives of local children and young people.
