Just a word about why I’ve decided to raise money for Cash for Kids. My employer recently started sponsoring the charity and as part of this we heard from a dedicated team member there. She spoke of the amazing work the charity does, particularly at this time of year with Mission Christmas.
She read to us letters addressed to Santa written by disadvantaged children. For some of them, they may not receive a single gift. A lot of them don’t know a Christmas dinner like most of us do and the 25th December is just another day.
Anyone who knows me will be aware that I am the oldest of 5 other siblings. For me, the best part of Christmas comes from seeing the magic it brings to them. The thought of them, or any other children going without is truly heartbreaking. I’ve not stopped thinking about this charity since the day I became aware of it.
1 in 3 children are living in poverty and the statistics continue to increase each year. More and more people are becoming reliant on food banks and the help of charities and organisations just to get by. The difficulties faced by many families across West Yorkshire, and other counties, are heightened at this time of year.
So many of us recognise Christmas as being merry and bright. Please help support this charity to contribute to bringing some magic to those children that need it and deserve it the most.
No donation is too small. Every little helps.
