Help Showcase The Street get more local young people active!
Showcase The Street is a Dundee-based charity that has been supporting children, young people and communities since 2005. We use sport, dance, technology and creative activities to give people opportunities to participate, build confidence and develop positive relationships.
We are taking part in the Cash for Kids Sports Challenge because we want to do more for young people who can face barriers to taking part in sport. This includes young people living in disadvantaged communities, those who are marginalised or socially isolated, and neurodiverse young people who may find mainstream sporting opportunities difficult to access.
Our facilities at Manhattan Works include two indoor 3G football pitches, dance studios and a Digital Technology Hub with a sports simulator. We want to make better use of these facilities to create more inclusive opportunities for young people to get active in ways that work for them.
Our aim is to raise £5,000 to help us develop and expand this work, providing more opportunities for local young people to participate in sport and physical activity, build confidence and improve their wellbeing.
Importantly, we don't just want young people to take part — we want to give them a voice in shaping what we provide. As our provision grows, we want to develop a Youth Advisory Body and create pathways for young people to become volunteers, mentors and youth leaders.
Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help us create more opportunities for local young people who might otherwise miss out.
