Hi, I'm Kelly-Jo, the founder and coach behind Lift Right Weightlifting Club!
As a former GB and England weightlifter, having represented England at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, I've experienced firsthand just how much sport can change your life.
Now, through Lift Right, I'm passionate about giving the next generation the opportunity to experience those same benefits.
I've always believed that sport should be accessible to as many children and teenagers as possible, regardless of their background, ability or circumstances.
For me, weightlifting is about so much more than learning to lift a barbell or competing on a platform. It's about giving young people a space where they feel supported, build confidence, develop discipline and resilience, make friendships and discover just how capable they really are.
Through Lift Right, I've had the privilege of watching young people grow, not just as athletes, but as individuals. Seeing the confidence they develop, the challenges they overcome and the sense of belonging they find within our little community is what makes this so much more than just a weightlifting club.
My mission has never been solely about growing the sport. It's about creating opportunities for young people to experience everything that sport can bring to their lives, both inside and outside the gym.
This October, we're taking part in the Cash for Kids Sports Challenge, bringing our community together for a month of fundraising events, sponsored challenges and activities to support the future of Lift Right.
We're aiming to raise £10,000, and every donation, big or small, will help us continue creating opportunities for the next generation.
Thank you for getting behind us and helping us build something that can make a real difference in young people's lives. ❤️
