The Cost-of-Living Grant Fund is only for children who have a genuine need for support and are suffering from disadvantage due to the Cost-of-Living crisis.

Eligible to apply

  • Frontline professionals representing a registered charity, housing association, public sector organisation (health and social care and education) and grassroots organisations that have formal governance documentation in place (including a constitution and a safeguarding policy). 

Not eligible to apply

  • CICs
  • grant making charities
  • individuals 
  • Previous applicants who have not completed all post grant requirements 

The service provider must be capable of assessing need, supervising the grant to ensure it is fully spent to meet the needs of the child / young person, and commit to completing a grant monitoring form including a sample case study / feedback and proof of expenditure within six months.

As the applicant you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring we reach the families who need it the most and meet our eligibility criteria. 
  • Ensuring the children you are applying for have not already been referred to the fund for support by any other referral source. 
  • We allow service providers to utilise the grant in the best way to support the childs needs but advise direct purchase of clothing/uniform, clothing vouchers, food parcels, fuel vouchers, food, toiletries etc. that can be evidenced. 
  • Cash must never be distributed to individuals.
  • Completion of a grant monitoring form including a sample case study / feedback and proof of expenditure within six months.  Financial evidence may take the form of a bank statement clearly showing purchases made or copies of receipts. All evidence relating to the application process and distribution of grants must be kept for audit purposes.  Cash for Kids will audit a sample of service providers within two years and this information must be provided. Information must be held on file for six years by organisations.

School/Social Services/Housing Association/GP/Health Visitor (2 uploads required)

  • Bank Statement or Paying In Slip (matching the organisation name)
  • Letter on headed paper from a senior representative of the organisation approving the application

Applications received without the correct uploads will be Rejected at this stage
