The Base Midlothian SCIO

Story

The Base (Midlothian) was established in October 2024 to give local children a safe, welcoming and inclusive place to meet friends, have fun and enjoy new experiences.

We are run entirely by local parents who volunteer their free time. Our work has been recognised twice in the Scottish Parliament by Colin Beattie MSP, and we have also received a Contribution to Our Community recognition from Kirsty McNeill MP.

We currently run a free weekly youth club and a free community club for children from Danderhall, Millerhill, Shawfair, Newton Village and Hilltop.

All the money raised through the Cash for Kids Sports Challenge will be paid directly to The Base and spent on the children, helping us continue to provide free clubs, fun opportunities and new experiences for the amazing kids in our community.

Together, we hope to raise at least £500. The more we raise, the greater our chance of receiving additional bonus funding from Cash for Kids.

Every pound raised will help us continue supporting the amazing children in our community. Thank you for supporting The Base!
