Story

Welcome to the Aspire Fighting Chances CIC Cash for Kids Sports Challenge page.

We believe every young person should have the opportunity to become more active, confident and connected, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

Through our work with Aspire UMA Academy, we want to create funded martial arts places for 15 disadvantaged children and young people in our local community. The programme will provide up to 12 months of supportive training, together with uniforms and access to the equipment they need to participate fully.

Our martial art is inclusive, non-competitive and focused on personal development. Sessions help young people improve their fitness, confidence, concentration and resilience while learning in a safe and encouraging environment.

Throughout the four-week challenge, our students, families, instructors and Junior Leaders will be working together on a series of sponsored activities. The centrepiece will be our Martial Arts Pattern Marathon, with team members taking turns to perform belt patterns in a continuous relay.

Our target is to raise £3,500. Every donation will take us closer to providing meaningful, sustained opportunities for young people who might otherwise be unable to participate.

Cash for Kids will return the money we raise as a grant, subject to its approval process. We could also receive additional prize funding, including a £500 top-up if we raise at least £2,000.
